Program

DAY 1 Reggio Calabria, City of the Bronzes of Riace
We have to recommend you the discovery of the treasures of Reggio Calabria guarded in the National archeological museum, by the others the very famous ‘Bronzes of Riace’ or the ‘Head of Philosopher’. You can make a a stroll on the enchanting boardwalk, also defined by poet D’Annunzio as ‘the most beautiful kilometer in Italy’. We then recommend searching for the "bergamot", an autochthonous lump of the province.

DAY 2 Pentedattilo and the Greek villages
We are going to visit the most important Greek centers of the area: Bova, Roghudi, Gallicianò, small cities where people still talk to each other with a dialect influenced by the ancient Greek. In Bova, ‘Hellenic capital’ we are going to see the Co-Cathedral, the Castle, palace Nesci of Sant'Agata and the Palace Mediani-Mazzacuva. After lunch, we are going to move to the village of Roghudi, uninhabited and situated on a cliff overlooking the broad stream of the Amendolea. At lunch we will taste typical food associate with wine tasting. Then we will visit Gallicianò, located in the heart of the Aspromonte, characterized by the intricate system of streets that will guide us until the Orthodox Church.
