Day 1 Stilo and Riace wines
We will settle in Riace, a small town on the Ionian
coast where the deep blue of the Ionian Sea and the gray-gold sand,
marry with the changing green of hillsides, offering a lovely scenery. In the
afternoon we will visit the vineyards of a local winery, where we will taste
wines made with Mantonico, Greco di Bianco, Gaglioppo and Calabrese
from the best of their production. Nearby is Stilo, the birthplace of Tommaso
Campanella, a charming place where there is the famous Cattolica di Stilo, a
perfect example of Byzantine architecture from the 10th century.

Day 2 Gerace, Locri and the Greco of Bianco
We will go to the discovery of Gerace, "the city of one hundred churches", a charming medieval village founded by Locri refugees. At Locri we will also have the opportunity to visit the archaeological park. In the afternoon we will go for Bianco where we will visit vineyards of a local winery where we will taste the famous Greco of Bianco D.O.C. and Mantonico and Mantonico passito I.G.T.

Day 3 Mammola and the Stockfish
The journey ends in Mammola where Musaba's modern art museum stands. In the same town we will eat for lunch the stockfish, a preserved codfish which is the basis of many typical dishes of the Aspromonte hinterland.
Stockfish is unsalted fish, especially cod, dried by cold air and wind on wooden racks (which is called "hjell" in Norway) on the foreshore. The drying of food is the world's oldest known preservation method, and dried fish has a storage life of several years. The waters emerging from the many springs of the Aspromonte, have a particular chemical-physical composition, which is rich in oligomineral substances, which together combine to determine the perfect maturation of the stockfish in the soaking phase, exalting its taste.
