Day 1 Altomonte (Terre di Balbia)
Arrival in Hotel in Altomonte.
Lunch in the winery Terre di Balbia where there will be served a bottle of local wine of 100% (vinified in purity) local grape variety accompanied with typical local cured meats and cheeses directly served on cutting board.
In the afternoon, visit of the Norman Tower and all the historical buildings of Altomonte.
Return in Hotel and overnight.
Day 2 Papasidero and Saracena (Feudo Sanseverino)
Breakfast in Altomonte.
In the morning, visit of the Norman castle of Papasidero and all the historical buildings.
In the afternoon, on the way back to Altomonte, tour in the winery Feudo dei Sanseverino in Saracena with degustation of the special sweet wine called Passito accompanied with a degustation of typical food.
Return in Hotel and overnight in Altomonte.
Day 3 Castrovillari Aragonese Castle (Ferrocinto)
Breakfast in Hotel in Altomonte.
In the morning, visit of the Archaeological Area of Sibari.
Lunch in the winery Ferrocinto, an ancient dwelling surrounded by ancient walls, was built in 1847 by Baron Girolamo Salituri. Today this ancient dwelling is surrounded by 120 hectares of olive groves and vineyards mainly cultivated with Calabrian native vines.
In the afternoon, visit of the Norman/Swabian castle of Morano Calabro.
Return in Hotel and overnight in Altomonte.
Day 4 High Ionian and S. Lorenzo del Vallo (La Peschiera)
Breakfast in Hotel in Altomonte.
Full day castles tour of the High Ionian side of Calabria, in order to see and understand the differences between the constructions made under different reigns with their respective styles.
Start with the Swabian castle of Rocca Imperiale; successively, quick visit of the Norman/Swabian castle of Roseto Capo Spulico (no entrance planned) and, for the last, visit of the Norman castle of Amendolara.
On the way back to Altomonte, visit to the winery La Peschiera in San Lorenzo del Vallo where there will be a degustation of 2 glasses of local wines accompanied with typical local cured meats and cheeses directly served on cutting board.
Return in Hotel and overnight in Altomonte.
Day 5 Departure
Breakfast in Hotel and free time before departure.
