Description

Overnight in Reggio Calabria

Grapes on choose for the following tour: 

Black Grapes: Alicante, Gaglioppo, Greco nero, Magliocco, Malvasia nera, Nerello calabrese, Nerello mascalese, Nero D'Avola, Nocera, Prunesta, Sangiovese;

White Grapes: Greco bianco, Inzolia, Malvasia, Mantonico;

International Grapes: Cabernet sauvignon, Chardonnay;

Mixted Grapes: Greco DI Bianco (Not to be confused with GRECO BIANCO that is a white wine). A special sweet wine cultivated and produced in Bianco, in province of Reggio Calabria.

Program

Day 1 Reggio Calabria


Arrival in Hotel in Reggio Calabria. 


Visit of the seafront ‘Falcomatà’ also known as ‘the most beautiful italian kilometer’ where are exposed a lot of monuments and statues. Successively, a must of the tour is the Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria where are guarded the famous Bronzes of Riace.


Return in Hotel in Reggio Calabria, dinner and overnight.


Day 2 Kaulon, Riace and Bianco


Breakfast in Hotel in Reggio Calabria.


In the morning, visit of the Archaeological Park Kaulon of Monasterace and all the historical buildings. 


First visit in winery in Riace, the place where have been found the famous bronzes guarded in the Archaeological museum of Reggio Calabria, with degustation of typical wines and food.


Successively, a second visit in winery in the Greek village of Bianco with degustation of typical wines and food.


Return in Hotel in Reggio Calabria, dinner and overnight.


Day 3 Bova, Pentidattilo and Grecanic wines


Breakfast in Hotel in Reggio Calabria.


In the morning, visit of Bova, an ancient Greek village in province of Reggio Calabria named as the Capital of the Greek Calabria.


Tour in a beautiful winery with terraced wineyards with the view over the sea in Palizzi where the lunch will provide a first dish of typical grecanic food and different varieties of wine.


Successively, visit of Pentidattilo a small “ghost” village embedded in a rock whose form remembers a hand palm.


In the late afternoon, return in Reggio Calabria, where a degustation in a local winery is planned.


Return in Hotel in Reggio Calabria, dinner and overnight.


Day 4 Scilla and Bagnara


Breakfast in Hotel in Reggio Calabria.


In the morning, visit of Scilla, an ancient village rising on a high rocky spur overlooking the sea with wine and food tasting.


Successively, visit of Bagnara Calabra and excursion with a typical ancient fishing boat called ‘Spadara’ used to catch the swordfishes. Scilla is also the home of one of the most famous italian nougats, the ‘Torrone di Bagnara’, a degustation is planned.


Return in Hotel in Reggio Calabria, dinner and overnight.


Day 5 Departure


Breakfast in Hotel and free time before departure.
